Auburn, AL: February Planning Notes

(All information is gathered from auburnalabama.org)

MULTI-FAMILY

February has seen little in terms of multi-family requests to the city council. Other than a proposal to change Harper Ave into a Medium Density Residential District (MDRD) for the area's potential growth, things have gotten quiet.

  • Harper Avenue Focus Area Study Zoning: Recommendation to City Council for approval of amendments to Article II (Definitions), Article III (Establishment of Zoning Districts), Article IV (General Regulations), and Article V (Detailed Use Regulations) of the City of Auburn Zoning Ordinance for purposes of creating the Medium Density Residential District (MDRD) zoning district and other accompanying regulations

SINGLE FAMILY

There have been more single family lots added in subdivisions this month compared to multi-family developments. Already established subdivisions, such as Mimm's Trail, just keep expanding, and entire new subdivisions have been proposed in several location. This month the amount of total lots added is 123.

  • Mimm's Trail Subdivision, 9th Addition, Phase A: Preliminary and final plat approval for a performance subdivision [30 lot subdivision with 28 single-family detached lots and two (2) open space lots].

  • Southern Ridge Estates: Preliminary and final plat approval for a conventional subdivision [fourteen (14) lot single family residential subdivision]; includes waiver to minimum lot size requirements.

  • Alberta Ridge Subdivision: Preliminary plat approval for a performance residential development [76 lot subdivision with 73 single-family detached lots and three (3) open space lots].

  • Tucker Heights Subdivision: Preliminary plat approval for a conventional subdivision [eight (8) lot single family residential subdivision]
